Frequently Asked Questions

How does working with experienced capital introduction specialists increase the likelihood of raising capital and meeting AUM goals?

How does the background of PilotShip team members play favourably for fundraising and working with funds like me?

How do specialized fundraising teams help fund managers navigate challenging market conditions?

How do seasoned fundraising experts differ from traditional placement agents and in-house Marketing teams?

Seasoned fundraising professionals like the PilotShip team offer a distinct, independent perspective that both placement agents and in-house teams often lack. Unlike placement agents, who are typically motivated by transaction-based compensation, our support is grounded in objective guidance, without the pressure of percentage-driven incentives. This allows us to provide honest feedback on which investors are genuinely aligned with your strategy.

While in-house teams are usually focused on a single investment approach, our capital introduction specialists work across a wide range of strategies every day. This breadth provides us with deeper market insights and more extensive allocator relationships. Our cross-strategy expertise enables us to spot unique opportunities that siloed teams may overlook. We complement traditional models by delivering fresh thinking and targeted expertise to enhance your capital formation efforts.

How do seasoned fundraising experts differ from traditional placement agents and in-house Marketing teams?

Working with experienced capital introduction specialists significantly increases your likelihood of meeting fundraising goals by broadening your investor pipeline. Our fundraising experts connect you with qualified prospects, multiplying potential capital sources. We know which allocators are actively deploying capital to strategies like yours, saving months of meetings with inappropriate institutions.

Our established allocator relationships mean recommendations receive serious consideration rather than being filtered out as unsolicited pitches. While some introductions convert quickly, others develop over time – planting seeds for future allocations as mandates evolve. This expanded pipeline of immediate and future opportunities dramatically increases your probability of reaching AUM targets, especially in challenging markets where quality fundraising support becomes invaluable.

How does the background of PilotShip team members play favourably for fundraising and working with funds like me?

The PilotShip team brings rare combination of institutional investment experience and capital introduction expertise that directly benefits funds like yours. Our fundraising experts have worked across prime brokerage capital introduction teams at major banks, investor relations roles at prominent asset managers, and allocator positions at institutional investors.

This diverse background gives us firsthand understanding of what allocators seek and how successful funds position themselves. We've personally experienced your challenges, having sat on both sides throughout our careers. Our combined networks span thousands of institutional relationships built over decades. This practical experience means we immediately identify which strategy aspects resonate with specific investors and how to frame your edge most effectively.

How do specialized fundraising teams help fund managers navigate challenging market conditions?

Specialized fundraising teams become even more valuable during challenging markets by maintaining outreach when competitors retreat. While many managers pull back during volatility – precisely when visibility matters most – we help you consistently present your strategy to qualified allocators.

Successful fundraising in difficult environments requires disciplined outreach rather than waiting for better conditions. You need more touchpoints, not fewer. While conversion rates may decrease temporarily, managers who maintain presence ultimately capture available capital. Our relationships help you scale outreach efficiently, keeping you front of mind when mandates emerge as others fade from consideration.
